Becky, there is nothing magical about doing a cut and paste from a computer. I can only tell you the hardware and software that I employ to do the copy/paste.
My computer is a MacBook Air running macOS 26.3.1 (Tahoe). The browser is Firefox 149.0.2.

Becky, in my experience, some Apple Mac (and iPhone) users become very snarky about the hardware/software they use and do not give any credit to Windows (and Android) users. I’ve worked with both Windows and Mac in my career and I can see benefits of both.
In this instance, where I am able to cut/paste data with my laptop and you cannot, could be related to Windows but that is not necessarily the issue. It could be your internet browser or the VW website. Many websites are optimized for certain, but not all, browsers. As such, websites will check what browser is accessing the site and may have embedded logic associated to certain browsers but not others. The issue might be a setting somewhere or a software conflict. My recommendation is to try a different internet browser to see if the behavior is the same or changes. Are you using Edge? Have you tried Firefox, Chrome or DuckDuckGo? One of these might work for you.

I am so technically challenged that I don’t know what browser I use. LOL. I think it is Edge, I know I Have both Chrome and FIrefox on my PC. But I do know that VW customer service told me cut and paste can’t be done to prevent spamming. But you aren’t the first person who’s told me they can copy and paste. Thanks for the info

Agree, Firefox is compatible with VW- I also use Firefox. 
Thank you for your help. Edge works well for me and dumb me has no idea how to change my default browser, or my VW browser over to firefox. LOL
Becky, there is no need for you to change the default browser. Continue to use Edge as you do today with the exception that you use Firefox only when you want to go to VW.
Start up Firefox; Copy the VW website address from Edge into the Firefox address field; Go to VW; Create a VW bookmark; Done!
